I was tested positive for HP. My doctor wants me to take the triple therapy HP pack. I have no ulcers or symptoms of HP. My question is:

Do I need to take the HP pack if I don't have symptoms, just for better health and if I do, do I need the PPI (prevacid) as this does not kill the bacteria.

Second question: In the instructions it says take with no food. I've read that if it's taken with food the medicine stays longer in the stomach if combined with food. Is this true?

Third question: Does the antibiotic kill the bacteria on contact or is it delivered through the blood stream to kill it.

thanks for the help.

Lots of people in the world has it and die with it. If you have no symptom, you may delay your treatment. However, you may also transmit to anyone living under the same roof.

The antibiotics may work better in less acidic condition.

We believe medicine may stay longer in the stomach when they are taken with food.
Does the antibiotic kill the bacteria on contact or is it delivered through the blood stream to kill it.
Both. However, I would like to stress that H. pylori does not go into the blood stream. But, H. pylori is hiding deep under the mucous layer and in between cells, where antibiotics in the stomach is hard to reach. So, antibiotics attack the bacteria from behind the enemy line - blood stream. When the blood is supplying nutrients to the stomach cells, they also supply the antibiotics.
