Hi all. I was reaching out because about a year ago I was having some stomach issues...upper abdominal pain, chest pain, back pain and gerd. I was given a blood test which came back positive for h pylori. My gastro followed up with a fecal sample. I can't remember the exact words but basically the fecal test showed that it was not active or something to that extent. She mentioned that no antibiotics were needed.

About two weeks ago the stomach bug went through my house and got my wife, me and 2 kids. About a week ago I started getting upper abdominal pain, feeling like i am bloated, chest and upper stomach tightness. I have always burped a lot and had a lot of gas. I feel better when I lay down.

I am wondering if I could have h pylori. Does this sound like symptoms? Is it worth going to my primary and starting antibiotics? I started ppi 3 days ago

Thanks for any advice

If your blood test showed that you have H. pylori, then you have H. pylori. You should get everyone in your house properly tested and treated. Children below 18 yrs old can wait. it's harder to transmit from children back to adult. But adult should always be hygienic. meaning, avoid sharing food, drinks, washing hands after toilet.
