Thank you for this forum. Does a Nissen affect H pylori treatment? H pylori was not checked until post Nissen. I am on my third treatment. I take Prilosec, doxcycline, amoxicillin and Pepto together before breakfast and dinner with two other doses of Pepto during the day. Why are the meds not spaced out a little more? I take the stool test in six weeks after the 14 day regimen. I wonder whether my husband should be checked? I hope I get rid of it. I was treated in July with
Levofloxin, amoxicillin and only 1 Prilosec a day. It returned rapidly.

I dont think Nissen will affect the treatment. The antibiotics will be absorbed by your body and flow through your blood stream to every corner of your body.

in regards to your husband, although reinfection is rare, but there has been report of reinfection from partners. So, perhaps you should get everyone staying under the same roof to check for H. pylori.

you are having a good treatment now. We call it PBAT. Do update us with your treatment progress.

Thank you kindly for the advice as well as reassurance. I had a liter of staph a removed last summer after
Another surgery With all those antibiotics, I wondered how I was facing this again or whether the Nissen made the HP
Harder to find or whether someone in my house has it. The antibiotics are going crazy on my incision line. My eldest did test negative. The lab at his Doctor said I can not do a breath test on a 16 year old but he is refusing the stool test. I will call his ped GI.thank you again!
