Hi I'm new to this site and would really love some help with my situation.
I'm a 23 year old female, slim and was healthy well, before this. I started off with a bile taste in my mouth, progressing to stomach pain after eating but also when my stomach was empty. I went to the GP and was given PPI's for a while but it didn't help, as soon as I stopped taking them I had so much acid reflux, I was then referred to a gastro doc where I had an endoscopy which found that I have a very very small hiatal hernia (He said it shouldn't be causing any symptoms) and H.pylori. So I was put on amoxicillin and clarithomycin along with a ppi for 10 days. Now I am still not feeling too great, I have really bad stomach bloating after meals, acid taste but the reflux has lessened, I've had red bumps in my throat that are not painful but still there, they are the same colour as my mouth but raised bumps (I've had these since my GP visit) Could this be because of the acid reflux? I've also got angular cheillitis 3 times in the last 6 months- could this be related to vitamin B deficiency from the malapsorbtion due to h.pylori?? I'm so frustrated with everything right now, I also get sharp pains in my right side from time to time. The Gastro doc said he didn't want to see me again and to go to my gp if I have further problems, should I get re-tested?
The gurgling in my stomach is still there, acid taste, throat bumps, angular cheillitis (ok now but occurred after treatment) and severe bloating and pain in the lower stomach area.

Sorry this post is so long!
I am currently not taking ppis, just a vitamin b complex and iron and also mastic gum.
Could all this be due to h pylori or could it be liver or bowel problems, I'm really scared and the doctors don't seem to tell me much.

Thank you so much

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. The server seems to have some problem for the past two days. Anyway, I am not sure if H. pylori is related to all your symptoms. But I hope it does, because at least H. pylori is not that hard to be cleared.

So I assumed you have already started your treatment. How's are you feeling? have you experienced any side effects?

Yeah I finished my treatment, the treatment was ok, I did get diarrhea for a while after and had the metallic taste in my mouth but I didn't care I wanted this to go away! I am going to be re-tested for HP in December, I'm currently off meds and feeling a good lot better apart from the acid reflux, it seems to be like LPR instead of GERD. A mucus in the throat and throat irritation. Can h pylori cause LPR? My endoscopy was clear so the doctor thinks its probably the h pylori.. is it common to have acid reflux with it? My stomach is feeling quite a lot better, the burning and bloating has gone down a lot.

Thanks for your response, the doctors don't seem to explain much about h pylori!

there has been conflicting observation on H. pylori and LPR. Some treated H. pylori because of the reflux and the reflux went away. Some has no reflux, but got reflux after getting rid of H. pylori. The truth is, the mechanism is not very well known. Hopefully your reflux will gradually slow down and recover.
