If treatment is successful then H. Pylori is gone when you finish treatment. If even a few strands of the bacteria remain in the stomach then the treatment is unsuccessful and H. Pylori will likely repopulate over time. What takes a lot of time to over are the damages done by H. Pylori, which can be Ulcers, sores, or inflamed areas in the stomach. Ulcers can take a while to heal. Also of note is that it takes a while for the gut to recover from all the antibiotics. Antibiotics kill millions of beneficial bacteria in your digestive tract as a negative side effect to treatment. The killing off of these good bacteria can cause a lot of various digestive issues that can take weeks or months to re balance. The main thing is to ensure H. Pylori has been eradicated. If it has been, and tests prove it is gone, then just eat a good healthy diet and give your gut time to recover....It should slowly return to normal as damage is healed and good bacteria repopulate your digestive tract.

just want to add this
the recovery is very subjective. It depends on how much damage is done by the bacteria, your immune response level and your recovery ability.
can it return? yes, if it is not fully eradicated. and yes, if you are in very close contact with another person who is also infected. we have observed couple carrying almost identical H. pylori strains. Meaning, H. pylori can be transmitted between couple.

It's not air borne. May be through food. if you are concerned, get a breath test for all your family members.

There is no real evidence that showed how H. pylori is transmitted. However, it is believed that it is transmitted via oral-oral route. eg. Kissing. Then again, it doesnt mean that you'll get infected in every kiss. It is related to the number of H. pylori in the mouth. So far, not many people is able to culture viable H. pylori from mouth. It is believed that H. pylori in the mouth becomes inactive. However, constant exposure to H. pylori via kissing increase the chance of infection.
