I have been recently diagnosed with H. Pylori, and is currently on omeprazole, clarithromycin and metronidazole. I definitely felt better after the first 3 days and on day 4 I felt almost normal, with symptoms of gastritis disappearing. However, on day 5 and day 6, some symptoms have seem to re-surfaced. Is this because of a resurgence of h Pylori or does it take some time for the symptoms to go away? I still have 4 days left of medicine and will probably be talking to my doctor soon.

I was diagnosed with h pylori a month back, so my doctor ordered me to take amoxicillin, clarithromycin and rabeprazole ( 1000mg, 500 mg and 20 mg respectively twice daily). After two days of medication, i had diarrhea and i had to go out of station for some urgent work. So i stopped taking the medicine. Now i am again taking the same medication. But this time i didnt have any diarrhea. Not even a single time. Its been 5 days till now and still 9 days are left.
My questions are:
Because of the break in the course of medicine, is it possible that h pylori might have developed some resistance to the above medicines? And what are the chances of its eradication?
Should i continue with the medication? My doctor said yes but i want a second opinion.
My symptoms are quite similar to the above post, till the 3rd day of medication i was feeling fine with no stomach ache or acid reflux but on the 4th day and today i.e 5th day i am feeling a little bit of discomfort and pain in my abdomen with slight symptoms of acid reflux. Is this how the patients react to h pylori treatment? Is this normal?
P.S: i am very sorry to post my question here. I am new to the forums and i couldnt find the link to post a new topic. I am sorry. But please i will be very grateful if you can answer to my queries.

To reaper917,
the recovery is very subjective. some people recover almost immediately and some unlucky one could take weeks, months or years to be back to normal. The bottom line is, your stomach will recover. just a matter of time. However, it is very important that you get a confirmation test one month after your treatment to make sure H. pylori is really gone.
To ahmed2662,
What you are feeling is normal. It is unfortunate that H. pylori develop resistance to Clarithromycin very quickly. However, you never know. maybe by chance your treatment will still work. So, I still think you should complete your treatment. then get a followup breath test checkup and confirm HP's eradication.
