Pylera 10 day treatment vs. 14 day treatment

I have a question about my prescription of Pylera. My doctor prescribed a 14 day treatment, but the Pylera only comes in 10 day therapy packs. I have a very high deductible and so I have only purchased the 10 day pack which is costing me an exorbitant amount of money by itself. If required to do the 14 day treatment, I will have to buy a whole other 10 day pack but only use 4! Over $1000 in cost to me when said and done.

WHy would he recommend a 14 day therapy or could I just do the 10 day which Pylera packages them as? I am very frustrated.

Thanks

There has been a forever debate about 10 days or 14 days treatment. Some researchers found that the success rate of having 10 days treatment is the same as 14 days treatment. So I think you'll be fine with just 10 days. Your doctor probably made a mistake by not knowing the content of pylera.

Thank you very much for the reply and wanted to follow up. My doctor did revise the prescription to just a 10-day therapy. Hope it works!
