Goblet Cell Metaplasia

I had a scope which diagnosed h-pylori, moderate gastritis in the stomach and duodenum as well as GERD. The path report also said 'goblet cell metaplasia'. My Doctor seemed a little concerned and indicated a need for a repeat scope in a year to verify no change or any change. I'm currently through my first week and a half of triple treatment for h-pylori.

Exactly what does it mean when the path report says goblet cell metaplasia? I know it's pre-cancer cells but how concerned should I be?

what it means is, you are at the higher risk group. If you have family background of stomach cancer, then your risk is even higher. If not, you just need to follow the doctor's advise, get rid of H. pylori and monitor your stomach more closely. eg. annual endoscopy check.

in addition, fruits have shown to reverse the cells back to normal in at least one study. So I would recommend lots of fruits.
