Why am I still in pain?

I just finished treatment 2 days ago for h pylori. It was two weeks on omeprazole, clarithromycin and Metronidazol for two weeks. The original pain I was having was heartburn, bloating and a pain on my side just under my rib cage. The antibiotics gave me diarrhea several times each day. I still have the diarrhea, as well as the heartburn and pain on my side.

is this pain on my side something else? A hernia? A really bad ulcer? Or is this a sign that the treatment didn't work if I'm experiencing the exact same pains. I've already had ultrasounds done before I was diagnosed with h pylori so it's probably not my gallbladder. I'm continuing to take omeprazole but maybe I should go to the dr to ask for something else? I have a GI appointment in June. I don't know if I can last till then in constant pain like this.

diarrhea is a common side effect of antibiotics. I am sorry to what you have to go through, especially only the 2nd day of the treatment. The pain under the ribcage has been reported frequently in H. pylori infected person. It's hard to tell if it's an ulcer without an endoscopy examination. However, you may request for double dose Omeprazole from your doctor or any GP.

Lastly, if the side effect is tolerable, please continue the treatment until you finish the whole course to prevent H. pylori gaining antibiotic resistance.

I am done the treatment. My concern is that if I'm still experiencing pain on the side and, diarreha bloating does that mean it probably didn't work?

The only way to find out if the treatment works is to do a urea breath test. To get a UBT done, you'll need to stop PPI and antibiotics for 3 weeks. It can be done in any local GP.
