Is stool sample testing affected by taking a PPI?

I am on Omeprazole and have just submitted a stool sample to test for H Pylori. Will this affect the accuracy of the result and, if so, by what margin (I note that, ordinarily, stool sample testing has an accuracy rate of 90%)? And, presumably, if that is the case and my test returns negative, I should consider stopping Omeprazole - for what period of time? - and re-testing? Thanks, in advance, for your response.

PPI will have some affect on stool test. there are literature that mentioned PPI will reduce the H. pylori concentration. Hence, reduce the chance of detection by stool test. So, if you get a positive result, it is most likely true. If you get a negative result, it may be false negative. You should ask your doctor about stopping PPI and re-do the test or breath test.
