Hello all,

I was diagnosed with h pylori after a stool test and my doc prescribed me to take (lansoprazole 30mg, amoxicillin 1000mg, and clarithromycin 500mg) 2x a day for 14 days.

I started this morning and took the first set, on an empty stomach, and it made me feel kinda nauseous for an hour or two and then I felt fine for the rest of the day. The nausea seemed to pass after I went for a walk and burped a few times. The second set i decided to take around an hour after a small meal and I felt less nauseous compared to the morning but the weird feeling was still there. Once again i felt fine 1-2 hours later; also after burping a few times during this period.

The doctor and pharmacist told me to take the pills before a meal but I found it extremely hard to have an appetite after taking the cocktail. I ate normally after the nausea period ended though.

Any suggestions? Should i ask to switch the regiment? Can i eat before i take the drugs? Are these side effects or is it possible i am allergic?

It should be fine taking the triple therapy together with meal or immediately after meal. Here is an article suggesting patients to take it after meal.
