I Need Help/Advice Please!

I'm new to this forum, glad one exists now considering when I first found out I had H-pylori there was hardly any info on it, that was 13 years ago.

My question/problem:
The original Dr. that diagnosed me is no longer available and hasn't been for quite a few years. My current Dr. is a retarded guess and give random medication fanatic.
When I was first diagnosed, I didn't complete the antibiotics (I was 17), and never went back to the Dr. I maybe took a few days worth of the antibiotics.

Now fast forward 13 years, my stomach is bothering me, I'm tired all the time, hair loss (you all know the drill), and my current Dr. wants to give me ulcer medication instead of re-testing me for the h-pylori. The nurse's reason, the only person I've been able to talk to, is that there is no way that the h-pylori could have lived this long, and there is no reason to re-check me just take the ulcer med.'s they gave me and they will go from there.

I'm beyond frustrated at this point. I regret not taking the antibiotics, but I am hopeful that what she said is true. Should I keep pushing to get tested, or just take the anti ulcer medication and chance burring the most critical symptom?
Or should I find a way to get myself tested without a Dr.'s note, or just switch Dr.'s?

Thank you for any help/advice.

If you were diagnosed with H.pylori and didn't take the full treatment at the time it is very likely that you are still positive. H.pylori can live in your stomach all your life. If you don't cure it, it doesn't go away by itself. My recommendations are: first, find a new Dr you can trust, get tested for H.pylori, and take a new treatment using different antibiotics that you used 13 years ago as it is possible that the bacteria is now resistant to it.

Thank you very much! Hopefully found a new one as of this morning, and now working on getting all of my medical records together. Fingers crossed this Dr. will actually care.
