I have gone to two different doctors after I knew I have HB Pylori, a general doctor and a specialist. They told me to follow very similar, but not exactly the same treatment. One of the doctors told me to take one pill of each of the three following drugs: amoxicillin (1 g), clarithromycin (500 mg) and omeprazole (20 mg), every 12 hours during 7 days, while the other suggested the same treatment but changing amoxicillin by Augmentin (1 g) which is a mixture of amoxicillin + clavulanic acid. Which treatment should I follow?.

H. pylori is very sensitive to amoxicillin. We have not seen a resistance strain before. As a result, i believe with or without clavulanic acid is fine.
