First I live in Mexico. I was diagnosed with this bacteria on June 19. I was prescribed three antibiotics claritromicina 2 times a day, amoxicillin 3 times a day and metronidazol 3 times a day. I was not satisfied with the communication or lack there of from this doctor and found another doctor to speak with. She told me I should not be taken 3 antibiotics and to stop the metronidaqzol. At this time we did not discuss the amount of the other two I was taking. After a week of not taking any antibiotics was given another blood test and my results where not good. The result for the bacteria came back at !.74 UI/mL. The second doctor I decided to stay with, said she believed one of the problems is that i need to take the claritromicina three times a day. So know I am on a treatment of Claritromicina and amoxicillin three times a day. This treatment will end July 24. This is a scary infection from everything I am reading. I am concerned with taking the right course in the right direction.

first of all, you should not use blood test result to check if your treatment was successful. Your blood test will stay positive for years. You should use breath test or stool test to confirm the treatment.

if you have not started any treatment, I suggest you dont start anything for a month, then try out breath test.

if you already started your new treatment, then complete it. wait for a month after completion then try out breath test.

I think there is no problem with your first treatment. It'll probably work fine.

Thank you very much. However, I want to know why I am still having symptoms like gas, slight chest pain related to gas and rumblings in my stomach.

if your first treatment failed, it'll probably due to antibiotic resistance. Nevertheless, the best way is to follow the guideline:
1. complete your treatment
2. wait a month without any antibiotics and PPI
3. do breath/stool test to confirm eradication

as long as you can confirm the absence of H. pylori, we can think of other reason for your symptoms.

There is nothing recommended for the bitter, metallic taste in the tongue. I promise, it's the mildest side effect you can experience.
