Went thru Eradication 9/12 still have some ongoing issues and was diagnoses with PI IBS. Prescribed Amitriptyline to help with stomach sending bad signals to brain. Anyone have any advice to help speed up my Recovery or does it take at least a year to heal after such a strong antibiotic regimine?

IBS is a different story. So is your stomach problem fixed? have you checked if your bug is truly eradicated?

As I have stated, 3 stool samples and Biopsy during Endoscopy. And still have stomach issues after Eradication. Do you know why they diagnosed me with PI-IBS then? Do you think they are incorrect?

I'm dealing with the same sort of issue but for not as long a time (so far). Went for a second breath test and am negative for H pylori. I was still having symptoms and physician took all sorts of tests (esp. pancreatic and liver enzymes as well as long list of blood work). All looks good. Yay!

She thinks, however, there could be an underlying IBS problem based on my history but also mentioned "leaky gut syndrome" -- something that traditional medicine has been reluctant to address. We're trying a few things to see if they work.

Doc reminded me that H pylori is a strong bacterium, doing its damage often without symptoms. It takes time to heal from the ravages, and we need to be patient. The problem is: no one in the medical community seems to have a "healing" post-pylori regimen. We have to figure all that out for ourselves.

Good luck.

H. pylori is not the only problem for IBS. It's also a common side effect after antibiotic treatment. The actual reason is unknown. but there is a theory suggesting that all bacteria got wiped out when you take antibiotics and when your normal flora tried to grow back, the bad bacteria dominate before the good bacteria. therefore IBS.

anyway, other area you may investigate is parasite infection and food allergy

i am sorry, i cannot advise you more on parasites. You need to ask your specialist. Try the common ones like E histolytica, G intestinalis, Cryptosporidum spp and D fragilis.

I will ask my GP. I think they did test for a common Parasite. But I will request further testing. I should feel better but I just feel like something is not right. Thanks for your Advice. God Bless
