I was recently diagnosed with h.pylori.

A couple weeks before, I took two azithromycin pills for traveller's diarrhea. Around the same time, I also took a topical flagyl-based cream for three days for a vaginal infection.

What are my chances of being resistant to both the mycin and metronidazole drugs now? Worried...

you probably can assume that your H. pylori is resistant to clarithromycin. the resistant rate to clarithromycin is very high anyway. Discuss with your GP about PPI + Amox + Metronidazole.

Thanks - I will.

The topical cream I used last week (vaginal infection) was metronidazole based. Do you think this would make the h.pylori resistant to metronidazole too?

I think it's unlikely. in addition, metronidazole resistance can be overcome by having higher dose. Discuss with your GP about it.
