My HP experience

I usually don't post on forums but like to read about other peoples experiences especially when I am going through the same thing. I've decide to share my experience with HP.
About four months ago I felt something peculiar was happening in my gut. I went to my GP he thought I had a fibre issue...eat more fibre!!! I changed my diet and things were still the same, no pain just an odd sensation/ fullness that never went away, sometimes the pain would bore through to my back. Back to the doc and lots of ultrasounds and xrays...nothing found. I have diverticulitis (which I have managed very well in the pass 5 years by avoiding foods that irritate), I went to see my gastroenterologist and he suggested colonoscopy and endoscopy. I made the booking for these tests for the following month. During this time I was feeling a bit more pain (not severe)and went back to my GP, more ultrasounds (thinking gallstones, as the ache was on my right side under my ribs) and I continued on eating healthily. Still nothing. My GP then suggest a breathe test for HP. I tested positive with a very high reading of 2700?. I was prescribed Nexium HP7 ( nexium, amoxyl and clarithromycin cocktail). After a few days I felt great, I have now finished the week course of antibiotics and still taking Nexium. The sensation/ache/pain is back in the very same place. I am due to have another breathe test to confirm eradication next month. if the results are positive the gastro wants to take a stomach lining biopsy. In the meantime I have read that Olive Leaf extract is a natural antibiotic, anti inflammatory and anti fungal treatment and is a great remedy for HP (Dr. Sandra Cabot Liver and Bowel book). I have started taking this supplement (pharmacist advised Ok if still taking Nexium). I have also developed a oral yeast infection probably as a result of the high dosage of antibiotics. So the olive leaf extract can't hurt, maybe I might beat this the natural way ;).

just want to remind you to stop your Nexium for at least 2 weeks before your breath test. I am interested on the result of your olive leaf extract treatment. I dont believe it will kill H. pylori, but I like to know how it does to your other guts bacteria. eg. prevent diarrhea, gain energy, etc...
