So I just finished my last round of meds yesterday. The first round didn't work and to be honest I am not sure this one did. While I am no longer miserable, I still have discomfort, especially at night. This last round was amoxicillan 2x a day, Cirithromyacin 2 x day and Protonix for 10 days. I still have some intermittent pain so does that mean this round didn't work? I feel my anxiety has gone down a lot but boy is it starting to creep back up there. Has anyone ever had to do more than 2 rounds?
Also, the nurse asked me today if I am drinking enough water. While I normally drink water throughout the day, no one has ever told me to drink anything. Could this affect my results??
I had a endo and it didn't show cancer, would there be any other reason my body is resistant? I hate living in fear

If you look at the last posts in this forum you will read that other people have to go through several treatments/rounds of antibiotics. The last one had six...

After your treatment, it will take a while for your stomach to recover, sometimes months. The pain does not mean the treatment didn't work. The only way to check if the bacteria has been eradicated is to do a urea breath test 4 weeks after treatment.
Drinking is good for your body but it will not affect your results at all. The bacteria you have in your stomach can be resistant to antibiotic because you probably have taken those antibiotics before, for example when you are sick: like Chlarithromicin for respiratory tract infections, metronidazole for urinary infection... This is how the bacteria become resistant. But don't worry, there is other antibiotics we can use if the commun ones don't work for you. All are patients are resistant to these antibiotics and we still have 95% success rate in the eradication of H. pylori. Also, the risk of having cancer is really really low. Never seen any since I started to work here (about 2 years now), so relax

Thank you so much for putting my mind at ease. Tonight I ate right before bed and I feel so awful I can't sleep. How can I get my stomach back to normal? Is there anything that would help?

I would suggest a follow up breath test 3 weeks after your treatment. During this waiting period, do take medication that will affect your stomach acid and no antibiotics. you can have some probiotic product to help your stomach recover. However, dont over take anything that you think it's good. Just eat normal and lots of fruits.
