Omitting Prevacid from hp-pac

Hi I was recently diagnosed with h. Pylori from a urea test. The test was indirectly done because I was experiencing symptoms related to osteoarthritus/joint pains/swollen lymphs/under left rib cage pains, and they decided to throw out the net for anything since I am still undiagnosed. To my surprise I tested positive, maybe not since more than half of the general population have it in their stomachs. But Ive never had much of digestive problems, bloating, sometimes the odd heart burn but my dr. Decided to eradicate this bacteria anyways and put me on a 2 week dose of hp-PAC.

my question is can I stop the usage of Prevacid, as I understand it ppi stops production of the acid in your stomach and does not have a bearing on the actual h. Pylori bacteria. Actually from what i read h. Pylori strive in alkaline enviroments and do not live in acidic environments anyways. I do not like the side effects associated with it and was wondering what opinions are out there on the role prevacid has on eradicating h pyloriI

Thanks and best health to all.

once you started the treatment, you should continue without modification. Although PPI has no significant impact on H. pylori itself, but it helps the antibiotic to work. some antibiotics perform better in neutral condition.

so, before this H. pylori gain resistance to the antibiotics, you should continue taking the combination until you finish everything. Dont give H. pylori a chance to get resistance.
