so..a question.. taking a PPI or anti acids have their own side effects.. but does they help or have a role in re-occurring of H.pylori? cause thinking that mostly u can catch it during ur childhood where the acidity of your stomach isnt that effective to kill the microorganism and the pylori made "her"self home until teenage or later on cuase in the first place there is no acid.. so the question.. being on ppi or H2 inhibitor or any thing that decrease or inhibit ur stomach acidity that means ur stomach is weak and ready for another attack from a "resistant H.pylori"? can this be a reason to catch pylori again?!

unlike other bacteria, h. pylori is able to survive in very acidic environment. however, it survives even better in neutral environment. then again, when stomach is neutral, all other bacteria take advantage and start dominating. H. pylori is very weak in competition. it almost cannot compete with any bacteria because of its slow growth. that's why it only grows in the stomach where no other bacteria can grow. and you dont find h. pylori in intestine where it is too crowded.
So, PPI reduce acid in your stomach,
1) antibiotic works better in neutral
2) indirectly kill off some h. pylori
3) prevent acid attack on your ulcer
