Second attempt prescription?

Hello,

After HP7 failed to eradicate h.pylori my doctor has given me a prescription for a new course of antibiotics however I am wondering if what she has prescribed is best. She did try to prescribe something else but her computer system wouldn't let her do it for some reason so she decided on this:

AMOXYCILLIN (AS TRIHYDRATE) CAPSULE 500mg 2.b.d for 10 days
NEXIUM TABLET 20mg 1 b.d. for 10 days
CIPROFLOXACIN (AS HYDROCHLORIDE) TABLET 2.b.d for 10 days

Does this make sense? That combination does seem to be listed in the pdf document by Bjorn Stenstrom linked to in other post - "Helicobactor pylori - The latest in diagnosis and treatment".

Thanks.

I can't see anything wrong with this treatment. If your HP strain is not resistant to ciprofloxacin, it should eradicate Hp. Good luck

Thanks for your reply.

I had meant to say that the " does not seem to be listed in the pdf" and that is why I wondered about it.

There are HEAPS of combinations you can take to eradicate H. Pylori.

My medication was called Nexium HP7:

2x Amoxycillin twice a day
1x nexium (esomeprazole) twice a day
1x clarithromycin twice a day
