Treatment when no ulcer present

Wondering what is the success rate in curing symptoms (mainly heartburn, chest pressure) after h pylori treatment when no ulcer is present? I don't have an ulcer or any stomach pain, no esophageal deformities (checked via barium swallow) and all my symptoms are located in the chest. I've read conflicting info indicating that when no ulcer is present, treating pylori doesn't necessarily improve these symptoms (and in some cases can make them worse).

if the symptom is caused by H. pylori, then eradicating it will improve the symptom. The problem is, many times the source of the problem is unknown. on the other hand, the recovery of the stomach can take as long as months... depending on how much damage has been done. Also, has the H. pylori really been eradicated? it is important to check that after the treatment.
