Is there a possibility that the bacteria can travel into the digestive tract? My mother had Crohn's disease and was found to have H.Pylori. Recently I had 2 attacks of rectal urgency with diarrhoea and tests proved I also have the infection.

This is a very interesting topic. Intestine is a very crowded place and H. pylori is a loner. I dont think H. pylori likes there. Nevertheless, H. pylori DNA has been detected from fecal sample. I believe H. pylori will always pass through the intestine from the stomach but not able to colonise in anywhere else other than stomach. I think there is some connection between H. pylori and Crohn's disease but the evidence is not strong enough.
