H.Phylori and Lactose Intolerance

Post by jennybooms82 »

Good Morning,

Does anyone know if there is any correlation between and Hphylori and lactose intolerance? I contracted hpylori and had to do 2 rounds of heaving anitbotics to get rid of it. But I still do not feel well. The GI dr recently had me take a lactose test which showed positive. I never had this problem before but now am allergic to lactose. Although I have eliminated dairy for a whole month I am still very sick.. Any ideas?

Thanks!

from your other post, you mentioned that you had 2 courses of treatment and finally got rid of H. pylori. did you do a confirmation test a month later after the treatment?

if you did... you probably have to wait for a while until you feel better.

Lactose intolerance has not been shown to correlate to H. pylori. Some people said you can train yourself back. or you can go the pharmacy and get lactease. an enzyme you use to break down lactose in your food. then you can go back to your dairy products.
