I have treated H.pylori for 3 times and all failure. Please help me!
I have had 3 rounds of quadruple therapy to date. Please see the list below:
Oct 2010
PPI+BISMUTH+CLARITHROMYCIN+ tinidazole
Dec 2010
PPI+BISMUTH+ AMOXICILLIN+furazolidone
May 2011
PPI+BISMUTH+TETRACYCLINE+furazolidone
One month after the third treatment,I did the UBT test and the result was negative. I was so happy! But I went to hospital today and test again. The 13C UBT is positive again! I eat very carefully everyday. I do not share foods with my family and keep my tableware clean. I don't think I was reinfected. Maybe my last test was wrong. Now I want to have the 4th round of treatment. What therapy should I choose now? Thank you!

if you get a border line positive, you should wait for another month and re-test.
i dont think you are re infected. If the result is true positive, then it will be because the last treatment killed 99% of the bug and the 1% survived and re-dominate the stomach.
i would suggest you to get an endoscopy and culture the bacteria for a test. see what drug is it sensitive to before your next treatment.

My UBT result is not border line positive, it is higher than before. To date, I have 5 times UBT. 1st DOB 24.4‰,2nd DOB 10.8‰,3rd DOB 7.9‰,4th DOB 0.1‰,5th DOB 33.2‰. I am confused about the end.
My doctor said that they can not culture the bacteria in my city. My wife also gets positive result but she does not have any symptom. My doctor insists my wife and I should have the treatment at the same time. Is this a good idea?
Thank you!

by removing the bacteria from your wife, it will certainly reduce it circulating among your family.

Thank you for your reply.
I have read some papers about H.pylori. I was told that chance of reinfected of adult is very rare. So I think my case is re-dominate.
I want to talk about my life here. Since I got H.pylori, I take care about everything. I always eat at home. And I only eat hot meal, drink boiled water. I do not share food with my family. I use my own tableware and put them into sterilizer after every meal. I do not kiss my wife mouth to mouth. Other things I used are also separated from my family, like glass, towel and so on. Is there some mysterious paths to spread H.pylori? Now I focus on the tap water in my home. Because I use tap water to brush teeth. Where I lived is a big city. And I think tap water is clean. Can tap water be a path to transport H.pylori?
Thank you!

the short answer is no.
your tap water has to be very contaminated to get h. pylori. "very" contaminated means, you'll find other coliforms, such as E. coli. I'll get Prof. Marshall to look at your case when he is free.
