My husband was just diagnosed with H. Pylori. The Dr office called in the prescription for the antibiotic regimen. We went to pick it up to find out that our insurance does not cover it and we were responsible for 100%. This came up to $463.62, which is not in our budget at this time. I have called the office and left a voice mail requesting a different regimen. Just waiting to hear back. Any advice? We have BCBS.

Hi -
I was diagnosed on January 9, 2012. When I picked up my prescription, I had a $40 co-payment. On my receipt, it says that my insurance saved me $624.99!!!! So, the full cost would have been $664.99. (USD) I didn't even think to look at that until I read your post. It seems the $400+ they would charge you is a discount. I know that is no comfort. I am sorry for what you have experienced and I hope that since you posted a while back that your husband has gotten treatment. I just finished mine yesterday and it was horrible. However, today I do feel a lot better.

Are you from Australia? if you go through the public system, it's quite affordable.
