I was diagnosed a couple of weeks ago with h pylori. I immediately started taking the quadruple therapy, which my doctor suggested. I am taking Metronidazole, Tetracycline and 2 pepto-bismol tablets all 4 times a day plus I am taking Prilosec in the morning.

Tomorrow is my last day of the antibiotics, but this morning I started getting the sensation of gnawing, like before, in my abdomen. Does this mean the antibiotics didn't do the trick? Or could I still experience that gnawing sensation for sometime if the h pylori is gone?

You are doing fine. The antibiotics not only kill off H. pylori. they kill off many others. i think your intestine bacteria is inbalance now that gives you the discomfort. after you finish your treatment, take some probiotic like yogurt. give yourself a week or so to recover. 3 weeks after, you can do a breath test and see if your treatment is successful.

Helico_expert- can I take a probiotic pill, like Acidophilus, while on antibiotics?

i dont see a problem. however, i wonder if they will survive from the antibiotics. nevertheless, no harm trying.
