Hi,

After being really ill for a few months, and numerous blood tests, i have just been diagnosed with H. plyori. My doctor basically left me a prescription for three tablets, to take for a week. I received no help or guidance at all. Is there anything i should avoid eating / or try to eat, etc? Any advivce you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

I am not medical doctor, so i'll let Barry Marshall to reply your post when he is free. But before that, I say plenty of fruits. nothing particular to avoid. you may experience side effects from your medication: eg. diarrhea, nausea, bloating, etc. but just hang on for a week. those side effects will go away immediately after you stop your medication. it is important that you complete your medication for a week to completely eradicate H. pylori. or else, there is a chance of it becoming resistant to current antibiotic and stronger antibiotics are needed. however, if you really upset by the side effects: eg. allergy, rashes, swell, pain, etc. then you must stop immediately and seek your local doctor's advice. all the best.
