Thanks for your detailed response.

Do you suggest taking Nexium 20mg twice to improve my current condition? Constant and severe burning pain and discomfort are the story of life these days. It has taken a toll on my mental health too. Dietary changes seem to have a minimal effect too. I am just conscious that it would lead to some serious health problems in future. Do you think an endoscopy may help in this case?

Thanks

There are many types of PPI, such as omeprazole, esomeprazole, pantoprazole, dexlansoprazole, rabeprazole and others.

They all have the same principle and work the same. Their structure is only slightly different to accommodate different people.

If you find Nexium not effective to you, you can try rabeprazole.

Thanks for your response Helio_Expert.

I visited the GI 2 weeks ago and he mentioned taking Esomeprazole 20 mg twice a day (morning + night) and work controlling the stressors/anxiety. He also advised reducing the dose if symptoms get better. He did mention that no need for an endoscopy now and to observe my condition for 4 - 6 weeks, in case there is an improvement.

Luckily, I have been feeling a bit better and have come down to 1 dose of PPI a day lately with some good and bad days and a controlled diet. I do get burning pains with flatulence and general discomfort at times, however, the intensity is fairly less now.

Thanks,
Imran

Hi Amitnj. I was reading about your symptoms and sounded very similar to mine which are bloating and acid reflux. It seems like my stomach at times doesn’t produce acid to break down my food. Has your symptoms resolved? How are you doing now? Any advice would be appreciated 🙏🏼

I went for Helicobacter pylori serology testing in 1st week of June. It came in as Negative with test results for Helicobacter pylori Ab IgG. Seems like I am one of those people who continue to get frequent bouts of bloating/belching even after treatment. On some days I feel acid reflux and some days it is just bloating.
What I have observed is it mostly is at peak after lunch and goes down in evening once I have green tea. I will try to make smaller meals and see if that helps.
Doctor has suggested to cut down on carbs and increase intake of fruits & vegetables.
