I’m not sure how to make a new post so I’m messaging on here. I’m doing my quad therapy and I’m on nearly finished. I dont feel any better. Im taking tetracycline, flagy, omeprazole and pepto bismol.

What I didnt know that youre not meant to take pepto liquid which is bismuth subsalicyclate as it’s meant to interfere with tetracycline. I’m supposed to take bismuth subcrite potassium. I’m not sure if this is certain.

I feel so disheartened, after weeks of suffering and spending a lot of money for this, I think I have messed up my treatment.

What I want to know is has anyone else done the same treatment and succeeded in eradicating h pylori and if I have to do it again.

Thanks.

it's ok. just wait for a few weeks and get a breath test done to see if your treatment work.
it's common to have the symptoms persist for a while even after HP eradication.
Most important is to get rid of HP. Only then you will gradually recover.

I didnt take 525 mg of pepto. I took like a tablespoon. I was told you should take vit c after antibiotics to make sure it doesnt come back. Should I take it? I’m not sure if I still have h pylori or not.

you can always do a follow-up breath test to check if you still have HP.

Vit-C is good. it helps your stomach heal.

The doctors don’t issue breath tests here. Just stool.

My mum and I completed the quad therapy. My dad said he wouldn’t do it. He was abroad. After some convincing, he said he would do it. I was wondering would he be able to infect us whilst on antibiotics?

Would it wise to wash his dishes separately i.e in a dishwasher with bleach?

Thank you

As long as everyone maintain a good oral hygiene, then it is very hard for H. pylori to spread.

If you have ulcers and get rid of HP, your sores will go away. Your doctor probably thinks your risk is modest and that an endoscopy is unnecessaryfireboy and watergirl
