I think more fruits and vegetables cant be harmful. Less salt and junk food should be right too.

Thank you. I will do that. I went to the doctor today, they put me back on Protonix, gave me new medicine for my Thrush, and gave me Zofran to help with the nausea while my stomach heals. I think I'm going in the right direction, just need more patience. :)

Just one more question regarding probiotics. I'm reading a lot about them and that they can help speed up the recovery process. There are many types out there that you can take that may be the wrong type for h pylori recovery. Is there a specific type for this recovery and where can I get it?

I think any type of probiotic products will do. They are meant to dominate your intestine to delay "bad" normal flora growing. However, I think study in this area is still very weak. since many people feel better with probiotic after antibiotic treatment, I guess there is no harm.

Having H.pylori does not mean you will have an ulcer. 60% of the population world wide is infected by this bacteria. You can live all your life without having any symptoms. However, I think it is better to be treated when you know you have it... just in case.

I had my follow up with the GI yesterday. He wants me back in 2 months to do the breath test. I am still experiencing some discomfort in my throat and esophagus, but they think it could be thrush in there as I have a thick patch of it on the back of my tongue and that can cause similar symptoms as the H Pylori. I'm currently taking an anti-fungal medicine, a Probiotic, and Protonix. Other than that, I'm very tired all the time. I feel somewhat better than I did before the treatment, so I'm hoping this is all just temporary.

Having a breath test in the next few months sounds like a good idea to check if H.pylori has been eradicated. It can take a while for your stomach to recover after H.pylori eradication and IF your symptoms are coming from this bacteria, give it a bit of time (might be several months...) to disappear. There is hips of reason to be tired, don't know if H.pylori is one of them though.
Good luck

2 months is a bit long for a follow up breath test.

Normally after you finish your antibiotics and PPI's you wait 4-5 weeks then go to see if H. Pylori is erradicated.

If not, you start second line therapy which is essentially a mix of different antibiotics.

And if you feel tired, you're not alone. I'm about 1.25 months after my follow up breath test and I still feel like crap. I'm always tired and barely make it through the day at work. This is probably because I can only eat 1 good meal worth of food a day, as I nibble throughout the day because I can't take more than 4-5 mouthfuls without feeling nauseated with something in my mouth. It sucks!

xcel, sorry to hear you are going through this as well. I wish for noone to have to go through this. Since it is not something that most people have heard of, they have no idea what we are going through. I thought the 2 months sounded a bit much as well, so I booked an earlier appointment for tomorrow. I'll see if they will give it to me as it's been a month since I completed the medication and still having symptoms. I'm hoping they are residual symptoms and will go away soon and not that the bacteria wasn't eradicated. I really don't know if I could go through another round of treatment. I have to say that as far as my energy, I am getting better. I found that with all the medications I have been on it's becoming easy for me to be dehydrated. I am drinking Smart Water (has electrolytes in it) (3 liters a day).
