French patient/ask for advice

The cure of Hp usually requires antibiotics. Other things have been tried and have a weaker effect.

Lullaby,

How are you? What did you decide to do? I am living on mashed red potatoes, bananas and cream of rice cereal. I also take Zantac when the stomach misery gets to be too much. No fun.

Dear Campanile,

I am reluctant to start the treatment, actually I am scared. My pylera bottle is stored in my kitchen.
However I am having so much pain with my stomach, I feel so sick all the time that I know that I will have no choice taking those pills shortly. Natural remedies didn't work, so...
I wish I hadn't contracted HP really. But now I have to face reality, HP is destroying my life.
I'll keep you posted when I decide to begin the treatment.
I wish you a merry Christmas, hope you stomach won't be too painful. As you say, that's no fun indeed.

lullby63,

You can take Reflor (sacc. boulardii) for C. difficile. It prevents antibio-related GI symptoms and attacks C. difficile. Also Pylera contains bismuth, it also attack C. difficile. Natural remedies don't work. But vegetarian diet (not raw things tho) may help. Avoiding to eat meat was really helpful for me.

I have one question.
It is written on the Pylera paper instructions that ppi should be taken twice (morning and evening) after meals and at the same time as pylera pills.
Is that allright?
Thanks in advance. My ppi is nexium 20mg

My ppi is nexium 20mg twice a day. Is it enough? I have red that equivalence differ between different ppi.
I am taking it at the same time as pylera, after meals as it is written on pylera instructions. Is it allright?
Please I need an urgent answer. I am on my 3rd day.

it is better to have PPI during treatment as the antibiotics works better. The standard dosage is usually 20 mg or 40 mg a day, depending on the severity. I think you are doing alright with 20mg twice a day.

Today is my 5th day.
I am having chest pain, and pain inside my esophagus when eating.
3 years ago, I had similar symptoms and it was due to candidas in my esophagus.
Now I feel anxious, because I have red that candida is a reservoir for HP, and if you have candida, then treatment will not work.
I do not want this to happen because my pylera treatment is hard, I feel sick and exausted.
Could you reassure me ? Is it true that candida infection may cause treatment failure?

Thank you.

I have another question. It is written on pylera instructions that dairy products are forbidden.
When the treatment is finished, when will I be able to eat dairy product? Will I have to wait for a few days? What do you recommend?

Thanks so much in advance

sorry for the slow response. Congratulation in completing your treatment. the reason you shouldnt take milk during treatment is because the dairy may cross react with the antibiotics. Now that you have finished your treatment, you may continue taking your dairy product.

Thanks for your answer helico expert.

As for the candida question, I thing I am going to take a treatment just in case.

I am starting my second day post pylera, and i am really worn out. I feel nauseous, have abdominal and stomach pains, I have lost 2 kgs already and I have no appetite at all. Unable to go to work so I am on sick leave.
In other words, well I feel awful!
