				Helico_expert, I am going in for Endoscopy/Biopsy soon (jan10th)

. The gastroenterologist is getting the H. Pylori cultured done (if its detected from biopsy test) to determine its sensitivity to antibiotics. My question to you is this "this wretched bacteria ---H Pylori---- has the propensity and ability to change its DNA when under attack from antibiotics so that it may become resistant and survive.
WHAT CAN I DO TO AVOID THIS FROM HAPPENING? One of the things I think is that I can take the antibiotics prescribed after the sensitivity test MORE frequently than the gastroenterologist prescribes, take MORE PPI as Dr Barry Marshall recommends ---the objective is to NOT ALLOW the bacterium any opportunity of surviving by changing its DNA---just carpet bomb them! I can also add DENOL OR PEPTOBISMOL as you suggested to the antibiotics. what do you say Helico_expert? I am so darn keen on getting this pest out of my system after harboring it for 1000 days!
PS: Amoxicillin didn't help me ,so I am more enthusiastic about bismuth versus amoxicillin

You are right about the "carpet bombing" method. Just kill them before they get a chance to mutate. Amoxicillin is good because H. pylori cannot be resistant to Amoxicillin (at least we have not culture one that can). Can take high dose, 1g, 3 times a day.
Bismuth is also good because similar to Amox, it cannot develop resistance to it.
To make the "carpet bombing" more effective, we usually combine with one more antibiotic that we know it is sensitive to. With that method, we have a cure rate of over 90%.

That could be a side effect of your antibiotics. You are almost there. Finish the antibiotics and see if you feel better.

the dark color is due to bismuth in pylera. It doesnt get absorb in your body. So the color should back to normal within days after stopping pylera. If dark color persist, you'll need to see a doctor.

Antibiotics can affect your intestinal bacterial flora and cause "antibiotic-associated diarrhea." Probiotics can help, but you better ask your doctor.
