So I checked my weight yesterday and it just reduced by 2kgs, within 2weeks. This is very shocking to me. From today onwards I'm also having pain the middle of the stomach above belly button when I press below my left side rib cage. Not sure what's going on.
Still on PPI and Gaviscon acid neutralizer. I can hear gushing sounds also sometimes after 1hr of eating meals and flatulence is more during that time.
What could have caused this sudden weight reduction, flatulence and pain? Is my gastritis becoming more serious?

2kg is probably not significant.
have you got a chance to discuss with your doctor come up with a plan to follow up your HP infection?
only without HP, you have a chance to recover.

Hi, thank you for your response.
Have lost another 1kg weight last week, I checked as I was feeling weak and tired during the day. Also, having lot of flatulence these days. Is it also possible that I've malabsorption due to prolonged PPI use and low stomach acid causing indigestion, that might be leading to weight loss?
The last I checked with my Gastro 1 month back, he said re-testing for me isn't needed and he said to consult after 1.5months directly. When I insisted on re-testing he mentioned that I'm getting stressed unnecessarily and testing isn't needed as some of the issues are also related to IBS, so he said to improve and do lifestyle changes. However, after that I've not visited gastro in last 1month and have
not told him of the weight loss, planning to visit tomorrow.
If he isn't recommending, then I'm planning to go for STA first after 15days of stopping PPI, as home collection is available in my location.
Would be good to know what to do next.

Also, I wanted to check if I can visit the Marshall H.Pylori Research Centre in Australia? I'll traveling to Australia within next 2months for Business meetings. But what I understand is, medical treatment in Australia can be close to 5-7X costlier than what it's in India.

I would still recommend you to get a follow up test to confirm the treatment.
otherwise, you cannot tell if you are reinfected or having a resistant strain.

I am sorry I do not know the price for HP treatment in Australia and India. But I assume it would be more expensive for foreigners to get treatment in Australia.
