I had an endoscopy last week. Results in regards to stomach and H Pylori are:

Antrum: No significant pathologic changes, immunohistochemical stain negative for H. pylori
Microscopic Description: Gastrio antral mucosa is within the normal limits. No intestinal metaplasia, dysplasia or malignancy is identified.

Rest of endoscopy was normal.

Is endoscopy accurate in detecting H Pylori? Or can it miss it if only one sample in stomach is taken? What if H Pylori is not in that spot where they take sample/biopsy from?

I was taking Pepcid up until 3 days before the endoscopy. (Last pill was Sunday and endoscopy was that Wednesday).
Could the Pepcid have caused a false negative?

I still think I may have H Pylori, what tests should I ask Dr for next? (Next GI appointment is not until August) is it ok to wait that long?

Last question, if I do have H Pylori. I know standard treatment is triple therapy. But Besides the antibiotics, is the PPI required or can I just use an H2 blocker? I’m very against PPI’s! They just make everything worse and have horrible side effects both short and long term!

Additional info:
I was also diagnosed last week (b4 endoscopy) with LPR (silent reflux) and I’ve never had traditional chest gerd symptoms, only in my throat.

I have stomach pain (mostly a spot at top of stomach left side near lower rib) mostly when stomach is empty, some burping, burning sensation mostly in that one spot.

immunohistochemical strain would be the gold standard. Very accurate.

The good news is that there is no other abnormality in your stomach.

Have you had H. pylori before? Have you had H. pylori treatment before?

If you never had H. pylori and treatment, perhaps this dyspepsia symptom is triggered by environmental "stress"? including diet?
