I think if you just follow the protocol, you'll work out fine. So dont over thinking about it.
did you see the keyword "active gastritis" in your histology report? that would be another indication for H. pylori infection.
or perhaps you need to change your PPI? some people are less sensitive to a particular brand.

No, my report said mild chronic gastritis and mild active duodenitis. Sigh

it's tricky when you try to diagnose H. pylori while you are on PPI.
maybe you can switch your PPI to famotidine for a month, then repeat the breath/stool test?

I'm wondering how long gastritis symptoms last post h pylori eradication?
I'm taking a probiotic and im currently on a ppi and gas x to help control the bloating, belching, and occasional upper abdominal burning. Its been 10 weeks post treatment but im still feeling pretty bad.
I plan on doing another stool sample to retest whether the bacteria is gone in a few months. After I finished treatment, acid reflux burned my esophagus. I have esophagitis/motility disorder diagnosed through manometry now and I can't swallow solid food anymore post h pylori treatment. I also have a white tongue and have tested negative for candida 3x already by culture and endoscopic biopsy.

In general, the younger you are, the higher chance for you to back to normal.
the recovery is depending on the damage done. Some damage can be permanent and cannot be healed.
The bottom line is, you must be H. pylori free. Otherwise the recovery will never come.
