The best is still bacterial culture test. But given that it is not easy to culture, molecular testing method can be second choice.

the cost will be different from country to country, depending on your service provider.

Thanks a lot Helico_expert. I'm from Romania, so molecular testing isn't available yet in our country.I've done twice triple therapy, first with chlaritromicin and amox b.i.d as given, second triple therapy was with levofloxacin and amox b.i.d, and last was quadruple therapy with bismuth q.i.d, metronidazole t.i.d and tetracycline q.i.d.All failed. Now I'm scheduled for susceptibility via culture endoscopy, and I was advised that my next therapy will be with Rifabutin and amox. What was wrong in all past failures and what are the chances now to get rid of this pathogen? I'm having difficulties day by day with all this gastric symptoms. Is it a standard scheme for Rifabutin therapy?thank you for your prompt answer

Amoxicillin and Rifabutin are good combination.
However, it'll be better if you can add bismuth in the treatment.

Also, ask your doctor for high dose PPI. we normally prescribe rabeprazole 20mg TID.
