Hi people,
I just wanted to give hope to those of you that are fighting this horrible bug, first, let me be brief , I got H pylori about 4 years ago, got the intense nausea, stomach pain, intense heartburn, intense acid reflux, all of them... I did go to the doc right away and go tested for the bug via endoscopy, to my surprise it was positive, and also was found with a moderate to severe gastritis... started the treatment 2 weeks after for a total duration of 3 weeks, I remember that during the treatment I felt a little better but not great. after I finished the treatment doc tested me for the bug was negative, I was stoked and happy... but unfortunately it does not end there... the following months the nausea, heartburn and intense reflux continued, I even got depressed... but like the experts say in this board, you have to be very patience, because things improve very gradually with lots of ups and downs, you just have to think positive that things will get better, I personally took PPI for over a year after treatment, and also zantac... my diet was ok, but avoided fried foods or heavy meals at night... but the good news is that after nearly 4 years I feel great!! I don't even take any PPI, just occasionally when I know I'll be eating junk I take a Zantac or when I get home from a party I take a couple of tums and that's eat. the most important thing for me in this process was to understand that the recovery is NOT a straight line, it has ups and downs. you just have to be very patience. Good look, please let me know if you have any questions. Pardon if there's any spelling or grammar mistakes. English is not my native language
