Hi,

I got the culture results. HP is resistant to clarithromycin,
Metronidazole, levofloxacin. It is sensitive to Amoxicillin, tetracycline,rifabutin..so my doctor prescribed esomeprazole 2mg twice a day, Amoxicillin 1gm twice a day, rifabutin 150mg twice a day..
This is 7th day today.. but still feeling bloating.. I am concerned about this regimen is working or not?

some people takes longer time to recover. It's a good treatment. But it would be better if you add bismuth to this treatment. Let's finish the treatment and see how it goes.

Today is my 12th day with rifabutin based therapy.. got fever and body pains due to travel .. can I use paracetamol while on rifabutin based therapy?

you can have paracetamol. But make sure you check with your doctor. if your fever is due to antibiotics, you will have to stop all antibiotics.

12 days is good enough.

It's almost one week since rifabutin based therapy completed.still I am feeling burning throat, bloating and mild burning sensation in stomach. I am suspecting is HP completly eradicated or not ? I am continuing PPI..
Is burning throat due to HP?
During abx usage got fever due to sudden excessive physical activity and not having food in time, and used Panadol along with abx.is this reduces efficiency of therapy?

The burning throat is probably due to acid reflux. continue PPI is the right thing to do.

panadol should not affect the efficacy of the treatment.

the only way to tell if you still have HP is to do a breath test after complete stop of PPI and antibiotics. You can discuss with your doctor about switching PPI to ranitidine for a month for the breath test.

Today I had RUT test, again it's positive. This is third regimen failed.. now I am desperate really need your help..

hmmm.. perhaps you can ask your doctor for the following regimen.

rabeprazole 20mg TID
bismuth 220mg QID
tetracycline 500mg QID
Metronidazole 400mg TID

10 days.

This is one of our standard quadruple therapy. The key is to have very high dose PPI (rabeprazole).
Metronidazole resistant can be overcome by taking tetracycline together.

please do not buy these drug yourself. make sure you talk to your doctor just in case you have side effects.

But I am not able to figure out why my previous regimen failed even it was prescribed based on culture..is it due to without bismuth. My local doctor said Indians should use bismuth.

yea, some countries where antibiotics are abused, many people are exposed to antibiotics without even knowing it. Hope your next treatment will work.
