Sorry for the late reply. The server seems to have some technical issues. I think it's fixed now.

Anyway, there is no harm trying this therapy (Cravit + Amox + PPI). H. plyori hardly get resistance to Amox, so it can be reused all the time. Cravit has high cure rate among population who has not exposed to this drug before. So I think you can follow your doctor's instruction.

But I've had Cravit twice in 2013 alone. At the same time, do you know if there is potential harm in eating taking so many rounds of anti-biotics? I'm just wary of taking this 2nd round of triple therapy, and am thinking of going straight to quadruple.

opps... my bad. If you have taken Cravit twice in 2013, then it should be avoided. Should ask your doctor for alternative antibiotics or switch to a quadruple therapy without Cravit.

Tx expert! U mean tt HP is not tt resistant to amoxycillin? Interesting. So basically if I find something new other than Clarithromycin or cravit, then I can still try triple therapy 1st? :-). Anothr quick question - I hv not kissed my wife for at least 2 yrs. Reading thru the forum, I get confused tt couples can transmit to each other but HP does not survive in saliva!??? Advanced tx .. as usual ;-)

H. pylori survive very poorly in the mouth. As long as you have good oral hygiene, like mouth wash and brushing teeth, you'll be fine kissing your wife. Then again, reflux obviously increase the risk of oral to oral transmission. All you need is one success transmission and your partner will be infected for a long long time until medication is taken.

Other than amoxicillin, H. pylori will never get resistance to bismuth too. You can add pepto bismol into your triple therapy to boost the cure rate.

yes. You are taking four drugs. which is why it's known as quadruple therapy.
