Diagnosed and symptoms HP

First, thanks a lot for this forum.

I came back from Central African Republic 2 months ago sick. My symptoms were : heartburn, acid reflux, nauseas, exhausted, not appetite, feeling always full. I lost 14 kilos in two months and half.

First, they did not know what I could have then I have been diagnosed with helicobacter pylori through a biopsy.

I just finished a sequential therapy : 5 days of amoxicillin followed by 5 days of clarithromycin and metronidazole.

I feel so bad.

My questions are :

Do you think my symptoms are linked to HP ?

I assume that I have to wait one month now for a breath test....

How do people do to support the pain ?

Your symptoms do sound like H. pylori related. The pain, is probably due to ulcer. You may want a proper specialist to have a look in your stomach. Alternatively, you can assume you have, and take a month of PPI. The PPI will help your ulcer heal. You can check your H. pylori later, if it is there, it wont go away.

Sorry for my broken english, it is not my fisrt language.

So, what I wanted to explain is that I already went through a fibroscopy and this is after two weeks that the doctor told me I have helicobacter pylori. This is the reason why he prescribed me these antibiotics.

I finished ten days ago, I am feeling a bit better. I can eat again even if I dont have big appetite. My stomach is also much less painful.

Yet, because Im coming back from Africa and the GP is suspecting maybe something else, I have to go through more testing again.

This is funny because last week I was going to write a message to share my recovery and spend some hope. I finished my treatement the 15th of june, did a breath test the 15th of july. I had been ok for two months.

Yet, since last week, all the symptoms came back : heartburn, nauseas, exhausted, not appetite, feeling always full.

What do you think about it ?

if your symptoms come back, I think you should check your H. pylori status again. Try order a breath or stool test from your local GP.
