H. pylori Testing and Colonoscopy Prep Concerns
I have both an endoscopy and a colonoscopy scheduled for next week. I want to make sure that I don't do anything that could interfere with the testing for Helicobacter pylori (H.basket random pylori). I'm particularly concerned about the colonoscopy prep—does the preparation process affect the H. pylori testing in any way? Thank you!

colonoscopy prep will not affect the testing of H. pylori.
make sure you remind your gastroenterologist to collect stomach biopsies for rapid urease test and histology.

Colonoscopy prep won’t affect Helicobacter pylori testing. Just make sure your doctor collects stomach biopsies for the rapid urease test and histology.
