After effects of H Pylori, years later

Post by Queenlatifa »

I was wondering if anybody knows of any health problems years after treating H Pylori? I find I have a weak immune system and have been susceptible to yeast and fungus problems, I just wonder if there is any connection to this at all if anyone knows......

Normally people carry H. pylori for decades without symptoms. How can H. pylori stay under the radar (immune system) for so long in human body? We diagnose H. pylori using serology test, meaning we produce antibody against this pathogen. It's amazing how it can still colonise persistently in our stomach.

So, recent studies suggest that H. pylori "tame" or suppress the immune response. Studies suggest that carrier of H. pylori are less likely to get immune system related diseases such as allergies and asthma.

I am not sure if that relates to your "weak" immune system and susceptibility to yeast and fungal.

After being treated with antibiotics, I have read that some people can develop issues with yeast infections (it is a side effect of the antibiotics used to treat the H. Pylori). I would suggest cutting out all suagar from the diet, eating complex carbs rather than simple carbs (avoid white bread, white rice, potatoes)... this can help. Also, takign probiotics and kefir may help. I have also read that extra virgin pine nut oil is supposed to be good, generally, but I have not tried it.

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to go get re tested for H Pylori after six years of supposedly being free from it. It's the only thing I can think of that seems to make sense after all these health problems I've been experiencing. Reoccurring fungal/yeast infections, might I add with a very low sugar diet! Constant tummy problems, sore, bloating and gassy most days. It would just be so nice to finally have a tummy problem free of anything. Any thoughts?

if you are living with someone who is a carrier of H. pylori, then it is likely that you are reinfected. So it is worth a retest for H. pylori.
