h-pylori symptoms

Ulcers of the duodenum and stomach are called peptic ulcers. H.pylori causes most ulcers; other causes are aspirin and arthritis type drugs (NSAIDS). Ulcers can also be in the oesophagus but these are not caused by H.pylori.

h-pylori symptoms

Post by mipegjunior8 »

I am new to this.I had colonoscopy & upper scope done 2 1/2 weeks ago, I am 45 y/o. They found internal hemmroids, adhesions, a small polyp and an ulcer. A biopsy was done on the ulcer. Last week I was told to get blood work for h-pylori. I go to dr in a few hours for f/u and consult for the hemmroids. My question is: I have had extreme tenderness to the touch of my abdomen for the past year. From my belly button down to the pubic area. I had a surgical hysterectomy last May, my first surgery, I attributed the painfulness to the healing process. Went to the gyno last week, mentioned it to her and she said it could not be related. Now after getting the h pylori news I am wondering if anyone else has had this symptom....Thanks

I am here just reading about some of the symptoms of H. pylori, its been four years and numerous doctors and ridiculous medical bills that my insurance will not cover and yet nothing works. I have not been tested for H/P BUT it seems that that's the only thing left for me to try, i have extremely bad breath and i have no dental problems just six weeks ago i was placed on a six weeks program for having to much sulfur in my body this treatment cost over two thousand dollars and at the end of it all the problem still exist. At one point i was place on a five month regiment of nexium that too didn't work over the years i was given antibiotics five times nasal sprays god knows how many, i have seen GI TO ENT THE WORKS to HOLISTIC TREATMENTS i do have heart burns and acid reflux hard hard and black stool, i just came across a person talking about how Dr. Barry Marshall helped him with a similar problem i would love to learn more and to know how long is the triple treatment and does it work? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I do hope your problem is due to H. pylori. At least we can treat it with antibiotics. So, try see any GP and ask for a urea breath test and see if you are H. pylori positive. If you are, then you are at the right forum to discuss how we can eradicate the infection, especially the difficult one.

You said you have tried many times with Antibiotic treatments. So, if you are positive for H. pylori infection, I would suggest you to see a specialist and organise a antibiotic sensitivity test. Not all specialist do that. So you'll need to ask before you go. They can treat you blindly without the test, but the chance of failing is high due to antibiotic resistance.
