Your symptoms may or may not be H. pylori related.
but, if you have H. pylori, then eradicating H. pylori has big chance of easing your symptoms.

So, it is important to make sure you are free of H. pylori. You can discuss with your doctor about getting a follow up test to check for H. pylori.

then, if you are truly free of H. pylori, then you can work on the treatment that fix your remaining symptoms.

good day I am from the Netherlands a young man of 26 years, I'm glad there is a topic about complaints like many other people, at the end of January I got stomach problems, vague pain and sometimes bloated. it was gone after 2 weeks. and the complaints were back at the end of March and I still have them.. continuous vague 24/7 pain does not go away. I have tried omeprazole does not help (sometimes I had more pain with omeprazole) stool checked no stomach bacteria (I was treated myself 5 years ago) ultrasound of the abdomen nothing to see .. and had a stomach examination 3 years ago because I had a burning esophagus for weeks who did not leave was also nothing to see, I am distraught I do not know what I have and the complaints really resemble the stomach bacteria.. I had to stop PPI and after 13 days I handed it in.. I am afraid of stomach cancer, it is navel navel navel gnawing pain .. not nauseous stool good no stomach acid comes up. food is fine, could the stool be false negative? because I have been treated before and do not pass stools? hope you can give me advice. thanks !

have you had an endoscopy examination before?
perhaps you need some biopsies for histology check.

Hi Doctor

I have not used PPI after the treatment of h.pylori 5 years ago and I had to do that for 4 or 6 weeks if I'm right? that's why it's not completely dead? But after the treatment I did have stools and it was negative.. am stressed about stomach cancer .. but have also had the ultrasound so they could see that right?

If you were experiencing reflux symptoms, then you can start taking PPI for 4 weeks or more depending on your condition.

Stool test can sometimes affect the stool test and give false negative result. So, it's better to do another stool test after stopping PPI for at least 2 weeks.

Ultrasound may see something, but endoscopy is more accurate in checking for cancer.

I think I wasn't clear in my story.

1. in 2017 I was treated against the stomach bacteria and after that I had a stool check again, negative so eradicated no more complaints after that

2. So in 2019 I had a burning esophagus for a long time, maybe for 3 months and I used PPI but it didn't help and that's why I had the stomach examination with a tube + biopsy, nothing showed up during the examination, I did use PPI. eventually the symptoms disappeared

3. in 2022 at the end of January I had vague pain and bloating, above my navel, that was finally gone after 1.5 weeks,

4. in 2022 at the end of March the complaints started again, a nagging pain above my navel (gnawing) and sometimes bloated. I swallowed PPI for 3 weeks with no results and had to stop for a stool examination, I handed in on the (13th day) but did use H2 blockers and that should not give wrong results during the examination, the doctor said, stool was negative .. and then I had the ultrasound checked everything, nothing to see everything clean .. doctor found too fast for a stomach examination 3 years ago and stools good .. the complaints do not get worse and lingers (nagging feeling above my navel) am not nauseous, no heartburn, food is going well (complaints gone or less after eating) it is only continuous nagging feeling above my navel .. is the reinfection really present? ( doctor says the chance is very small ) and not visible in stool? My hygiene is not good and neither are my teeth..

can you give me tips please!

I think H. pylori may have left some problems behind. But it's good that it had been eradicated. The endoscopy and stool test did not pick up anything serious, so that's good news.

The description of the symptoms sounded like a small episode that happened once a while and can be controlled by PPI. Unfortunately we do not have a permanent cure for that at the moment as we do not know what is the exact damage that was left by H. pylori. So we can only treat you symptomatically. If this particular PPI failed, then perhaps you can try other brands of PPI.

Thanks for the effort !

I have another question,

1. why does it take so long for these complaints to persist, can stress or anxiety cause and persist such complaints?

2. So in 2019 I had a stomach examination with the snake, nothing showed up, but in those 3 years (development of stomach cancer?) it may be very far fetched and my age is 26, no cancer in family

3. and my complaints go away or become less after I have eaten .. it is more on an empty stomach gnawing feeling that persists, sometimes bloated feeling, 2 months so far.. hope you can reply and reassure me! thank you very much.
