Hi, thank you for this forum I wish I found it sooner.
H Pylori infection started after an epigastric hernia repair op but wasn't diagnosed for a few months later. Anyway after two lots of triple treatments in Sept 22 and Oct 22 and losing 13kg I didnt have to spare and feeling dreadful an endoscopy in March 23 showed I'm clear of H Pylori. I was diagnosed with mild antral gastritis however I've started gagging in the mornings again and feeling a warm/hot inside my chest but I've no heartburn or reflux. I'm on no medication since January and can't get a GP for 3 weeks (in Ireland). Heavy Nausea has been a big problem all along and is still here too. My ferritin was too low so ive to take iron supplements but I think they are making me sick and I have read that h pylori like Iron and use it to multiply so Im worried about that now. I'm taking manuka honey, slippery elm to try help. Any pointers. Thank you

glad to hear that your HP has been eradicated.
How are you feeling now?
it is common for the symptoms to persist after HP eradication.
This is because the symptoms are usually due to the inflammation.
After HP eradication, your immune cells should gradually retreat from the stomach. However, depending on the individual's immunity, the inflammation can stay for a while. Hopefully you are feeling better now.

I'm happy to hear that your HP has gone away. How do you feel at the moment? It is usual for the symptoms to still be there after the HP has been wiped out. This is because the inflammation is often the reason of the symptoms word hurdle After you get rid of HP, your immunity cells should slowly leave your stomach. But based on how strong a person's immune system is, the inflammation can last for a while. We hope that you feel better now.
