Is ppi the issue?

So had a treatment of amoxicillan and Clariythomycin, didn't work. Using the ppi omeprazole each time. Second treatment the same but metronidazole instead of clarithromycin. Hasn't made much difference whatsoever and the second treatment I even added in pepto bismol. So now I'm thinking maybe the ppi omeprazole isn't doing its job. I'm in the uk so when I speak to the doctor soon which ppi can I suggest that is most effective as I believe this one might not be working properly. I also took it twice a day 20mg.

PPI is very important in H. pylori treatment. The better the acid blockade, the better the treatment.
There are studies that show that if the acid blockade is enough, even amoxicillin alone can reach 80% cure rate.
Some people have high metabolic rate against PPI. meaning they need higher dose PPI to reduce the acid secretion.
So try to get strong PPI in your next treatment.

you can try rabeprazole 20 mg, three times a day next time. it's probably equal to 40mg omeprazole 3 times a day.

Amoxicillin and pepto bismol are good. So you can continue these two drugs.

Then your doctor will need to recommend another antibiotic to combo with the two above.
