Dr prescribed me the following

Omeprazole 40 mg am - wait 30 min for antibiotics
Amoxicillin 1,000 mg 2/day
clarithromycin 500 g 2/day

I’m on day 7 of 14 and finding out 20 mg omelrazole 2/day is best. Anyone think it’ll be bad to switch from 40 mg once a day to 20mg twice a day?

Is 30 min too short between ppi and abx?

Like to add the dr originally prescribed me 40 mg twice a day for omeprazole. I am Asian and due to certain gene omeprazole may have high serum concentration due to bioavailability.

When telling the pharmacist this - they changed the Rx with drs orders to 40 mg once a day. ESP since I had headaches my last omeprazole treatment

twice a day is better than once a day.
I think about half of the Asian has the defective CYP2C19 gene.

perhaps you can switch to rabeprazole, which is not affected by this gene.
