I was diagnosed today with Helicobater pylori. My symptoms began on November 8. On November 7, I drank 2 cups of hot chocolate made by powder mixture. What I didn't know at the time was that at the bottom of the can was a rusted nail in the mixture. Could that have been the cause of my being sick?

H. pylori has to be transmitted via very close contact with another infected person. H. pylori cannot survive outside human body for long. So your H. pylori did not come from the nail.

As for the rusty nail, we normally would worry about Clostridium from contaminated soil. Because Clostridium is sensitive to oxygen, rusty nail absorbed the oxygen and become rusty, which create a good environment for Clostridium to survive. However, I dont think it can survive in hot chocolate.
