Hello all, I am so thankful to have found this forum. I apologize if someone has already asked this and I just missed it. I have had several symptoms of an h pylori infection. I had it before and was never tested to see if it was eradicated, so I don't know if I was ever truly cured. I have been through 3 primary doctors because all of them have refused to refer me anywhere and thought I have anxiety, but I am finally getting an endoscopy tomorrow to see for sure if I have h pylori. It's been a long and scary road. A year ago, when my symptoms really started getting severe, I met with an endocrinologist who put me on levothyroxine for a hypoactive thyroid. The thing is, my levels were barely off, and my current primary doctor does not think I need levothyroxine. Does anyone know of a correlation between h pylori and bringing up hypoavtive thyroid symptoms? I have heard it mentioned in some research, but I wondered if you all have anything to add. Just trying to get as much information as possible before I see my primary again after this endoscopy.

from my understanding, H. pylori is primarily causing trouble in the stomach. Although there has been proposal of H. pylori may have also indirectly caused trouble elsewhere, the evidence is not very strong.

Since you are doing endoscopy, perhaps you can ask for CLOtest, histology, and a pH check of your gastric acid.
